Payment dates and pay slips
Your pension will normally be paid monthly, in arrears, on the 15th day of each month.
If you have MNOPF pension benefits in both the Old Section (pre April 1978) and New Section of the MNOPF, your payments will be combined so that you receive just one payment, and one pay slip, from myMNOPFpension.
To do this you must choose the same retirement date for all providers and provide the same bank or building society details to each pension provider when returning your retirement paperwork.
Payments are usually made on the 15th day of each month. However, as the first payment you receive covers the time from your retirement date up to the 15th of the month, it may be more, or less, than your normal monthly amount, depending on the period it represents.
If your total annual pension is less than £720, you will receive your pension in quarterly instalments on 15th January, April, July and October.
These amounts will be paid to you one month in arears and two months in advance. For example, the January payment will cover the period from 16th December to 15th March.
The pension payable to your widow/er, civil partner or dependants will start from the date of your death. All monthly pensions will be paid, in arears, on 15th day of each month in the same way as member pensions.
A child’s pension may be paid direct to the child, or to a parent or guardian, after the completion of all the relevant forms and provision of the correct documentation.
