Following the UK’s exit from the EU on 31 January 2020, the UK and the EU are now subject to a transition period which is expected to last until 31 December 2020. There is still a degree of uncertainty as to the position of the UK in terms of a Brexit deal at this time.

The MNOPF Privacy Notice has been updated predominantly to reflect the transition of the executive services from Ensign Pensions to Rock Pensions and the change in name of the Fund administrators from JLT to Mercer, following Mercer’s acquisition of JLT in 2019. The types of data the Trustee processes, and the reasons for the processing, have not changed. The revised Privacy Notice can be viewed here:

The Trustee of the c.£3 billion Merchant Navy Officers Pension Fund (“MNOPF”) has secured c.£1.6 billion of members’ pension benefits through a buy-in transaction with Pension Insurance Corporation plc (“PIC”).
