In a hotly contested category, the MNOPF beat eight other shortlisted pension schemes to win the coveted Pensions Age DB Scheme of the Year Award.
The award recognises the work carried out by Ensign Pensions on behalf of the MNOPF to innovatively overcome the challenges it faced through the creation of the Ensign Retirement Plan (for the MNOPF), the pioneering use of a fiduciary manager, and the successful de-risking of the Fund.
Andrew Waring, CEO of the MNOPF, was delighted to collect the award on behalf of the Fund, and said “This achievement is testimony to our continuing drive to innovate and improve what we offer to maritime employers and their employees. As a result, members enjoy greater pension security, have more retirement choice and are reassured that they are part of the flagship pension scheme for the maritime industry.”
